1. Axolotl

The larvae of this species (of Mexican Mole Salamander) failed to experience a metamorphosis, thus, the adult ones stayed gilled and also aquatic. They sprang from the lake of Mexico City and is usually used in studies because of their unusual ability to revitalize themselves.
